Don't worry - we've got it covered.
There's nothing you need to know about Braille to be
able to communicate with your customer using Braille. But that
said, there are couple of points that may trip you up if you're
not aware of them.
Does your customer require Grade 1
or Grade 2 Braille?
The simple answer is that they will probably tell you if they
are just learning Braille and need Grade1
otherwise, Grade 2 will usually be just fine. (Click 'About
Braille' for a very short briefing). If you don't tell us -
we'll format in Grade 2 - the most commonly used format.
Are there any graphs or charts that
need explaination?
In many cases the salient points of charts and graphs
are covered in text just before or after but if not, a short
paragraph about the points you wish to mention will help. If
it's not essential to include the data, we'd suggest you leave
it out.
If there is any tabular data we'll write the additional
narrative to enable the Braille reader to follow it.
Should we spot something in the text, or something that you've
missed or omitted to send - we'll get straight back to you.
